This case study explores how Belize translated its National Mariculture Policy into a practical Implementation Plan through a participatory, evidence-based process. Commissioned by the Caribbean Regional Fisheries Mechanism (CRFM) under the BE-CLME+ Project, ITACA Solutions brought together coastal communities, seaweed producers, government institutions, researchers and other stakeholders to identify barriers, establish priorities and define actionable steps towards a sustainable mariculture sector. The experience demonstrates how inclusive consultation, institutional coordination and traceable evidence can help bridge the gap between policy ambitions and implementation.
