Strengthen capacities and knowledge on climate change, with an inclusive and multidisciplinary approach aimed at young people and the public with the purpose of promoting climate awareness and promoting the adoption of effective policies and strategies to mitigate the impacts of climate change and adapt to its consequences.

Online Academy on Climate Change for Young Leaders: a six week immersive and assisted collaborative program positioning young professionals towards climate-related carriers
Alumni Program: A mechanism to track graduates of previous courses and continue strengthening their skills through workshops, courses, activities, and networking opportunities will be implemented throughout the project.
Guidelines for primary and secondary school teachers: Design, develop and validate four (4) teaching guides that allow the strengthening of technical capacities in teachers of educational centers, official and private, regarding the mainstreaming of Climate Change content in the Panamanian education curriculum.
Climate Knowledge Hub: A comprehensive digital platform designed to centralize and provide accessible, up-to-date educational resources and information on climate change to facilitate understanding and inform mitigation strategies for diverse audiences.
Art Contest for the youth: Aiming to educate and raise awareness about the urgency of climate change, this contest empowers youth to express their concerns, celebrates their creativity, and fosters community dialogue to inspire tangible solutions.

6 Online Climate Change Academies between 2024 and 2025 of up to 40 students each
A new and updated Knowledge Hub providing access to information on climate change, climate finance, mainstreaming gender, adaptation, mitigation and much more!
An Art book highlighting the best Climate Change draws from the youth contest.

Objetives

Key Outcomes

To build capacity and knowledge among technicians and managers in Commonwealth countries for mapping mangrove ecosystems.
For GIS Technicians: Learn about available data and software for mapping mangroves, upload data onto Google Earth Engine, access and pre-process remote imagery, and perform basic GIS analyses.
For managers: Understand mapping requirements, available data and software, and how mapping supports the development of informed policies and management plans for mangrove protection and restoration

Active engagement and trainer-led instruction. It includes separate modules for GIS technicians and managers, each with a mix of presentations, practical exercises, and discussions tailored to their roles and needs

Two comprehensive online training modules: one tailored for GIS Technicians, focusing on data and software for mapping mangroves, and another for managers, emphasizing mapping requirements and how it supports policy development. These modules engage participants through interactive learning methods, equipping them with the skills and knowledge needed for effective mangrove ecosystem mapping and management

Learn to map climate risks and undertake practical value chain analyses that can guide more effective and transformational interventions to build resilience in agricultural value chains
Learn to use Gephi to build network maps of the resource flows in a value chain and how to carry out basic value chain network analyses
Explore investment opportunities for building climate resilience in agricultural value chains-

6-weeks interactive and hands-on journey to build a multi-scalar understanding of climate resilience in agricultural value chain networks. Students work on their selected value chains and have analytical outputs that can show to others at the end of the journey! Using a learning by doing approach, they learn to map climate risks and undertake practical value chain analyses that can guide more effective and transformational interventions to build resilience in agricultural value chains.

The students gained knowledge on an empirically-tested multi-scalar methodological framework to map and analyze climate change risks and opportunities in agricultural value chains
The framework helped them to understand how network structure and composition influence climate resilience and the importance of effectively managing business relationships and value chain resource flows
