- The report was developed for the International Development Finance Club to showcase current initiatives and progress in climate adaptation finance implementation in preparation for COP 27 held in 2022 and for the next edition of the Finance in Common Summit 2023
- Developing a common understanding on the current situation on adaptation within the broader landscape of climate finance since the Paris Agreement
- Highlighting the significant role played by Public Development Banks (PDBs) and their comparative advantages in comparison to other key actors in the climate finance landscapeÂ
- Highlighting the key solutions, achievements and lessons learnt provided by IDFC members since the Paris AgreementÂ
- Defining a common approach for IDFC to address the existing challenges in climate finance and adaptation

Adaptation Finance Report, product of a comprehensive literature review on the current situation of adaptation in climate finance and reflecting the critical and unique role that NDBs – including IDFC members – can play in bridging the adaptation finance gap and improving its impact
The literature review was complemented with interviews with key IDFC players and a consultation workshop through which further perspectives from members were collected to advance a shared vision for future action
